Shirva is a village in Udupi taluk of Udupi district, Karnataka, India. The village is known for cultivation of flowers, especially Jasmine, called Mallige in Tulu, Kannada, Byari, Konkani, Hindi and English spoken by locals)) == Location == Shirva is a village lying on the West Coast of India. It is at a distance of 20 k. m. from Udupi and 48 k. m. from Mangalore. Shirva is near education hubs such as Manipal, Nitte, Udupi, and Karkala and also beaches like Kaup also city Mangalore which is the nearest airport. It has a Govt health center, the Govt telephone exchange, a post office, petrol pump, police station, Our Lady of Health Church, a few temples including Sri Mahalasa Narayani temple, and Vishnumurthi Temple and two mosques. Hindus, Christians, and Muslims are equally populated. Shirva has got 10 nationalized bank branches and a few regional banks. Shirva is well connected to different places and is a junction to Udupi, Kaup, Moodubelle, Padubidri and Karkala. The UPCL power plant and Strategic Crude oil plants are in proximity of Shirva.
